WEEKEND WANDERLUST: PHOENIX EDITION
Last month in Phoenix was a nice get away from the LA grind. We got to try a new hotel, the Palomar, which exceeded all my expectations and then some – highly recommended!!! The location is right in the middle of the newly developed City Scape which has everything you could need within walking distance. Upon our arrival we decided to go to the Suns game since the stadium is conveniently located across the street. The following morning I discovered one of my new favs – “The Breakfast Club” restaurant. If you don’t want to dine at the Blue Hound in the hotel, The Breakfast Club is real gem.
As I’m sure you are well aware, shopping is one of my favorite “activities”, so I hit the Tanger Outlets in Glendale and also checked out the Arizona Mills Outlets. I loved the Saks Off Fifth and found a few things at Nieman Marcus’ Last Call. After a long day of shopping, pizza was on the menu and not just any pizza, but Chicago deep dish style was what my partner in crime was craving. We headed off to Oregano’s where I tried my first deep dish pizza. I really loved the outdoor patio which was perfect for a warm summer night and the pizza was mouthwatering perfection.
Our last day was spent on Pit Row at the NASCAR race. Side note: I’m really not a true fan my any means but give me front row seats to the action at any sporting event and I’m there! Plus, it never hurts that your good friend is the marketing director at the track!
