Perch my new favorite rooftop happy hour and brunch spot resting on the 15th floor of the Pershing Square Building in DTLA. Now, to my friends who say “I’m scared of DTLA or thats TOO far to drive down THERE”, Perch is absolutely worth the trek! It’s a magical place with beautiful decor and unparalleled views of downtown (we know how much I love rooftops!). Erin, my current happy hour partner in crime and colleague decided we would check out the Friday Apertif Hour (4-6) pm. We ordered the sliders, bruscetta, truffle fries and the truffle mac and cheese. The truffle mac and cheese is amazing and it was devoured before I even had the slightest chance to take a picture. For those of you looking for healthier options, they have a great fruit platter too! They also offer wine, beer, cocktails and kir royales. We opted to try ALL the kirs settling on the blackberry as our favorite.
I enjoyed the happy hour so much that I decided I would be back on Sunday to check out the brunch from 11am-3pm. I have to admit, I was lured in by the $12 bottles of champagne. I found the brunch to be pleasantly delightful (even before the champagne kicked in). We ordered the BAKED BRIE with creamy pesto sauce & a baby salad to start then the FRENCH TOAST with banana maple syrup and brown sugar bacon – YUM! Elle tried the THREE EGG OMELET with pan seared mushrooms, spinach, gruyere cheese and potatoes.
Definitely “perched” at the top of my go to list for happy hour or brunch and worth the drive downtown! I can’t wait to host my next event there!
