Nestled in the middle of Death Valley National Park, is a historic AAA-rated four-diamond luxury resort that is the perfect hideaway for anyone looking to get away.

Just 4.5 hours from Los Angeles, the Oasis at Death Valley is a sprawling, completely renovated mecca set against the hillside looking out over the valley towards the Panamint Mountains. Although it feels like a large resort, they still pamper every guest with no details going unnoticed.

The Oasis is no mirage – it sits on a natural spring which lends itself to lush palm trees and bougainvillea blooming all over the grounds. I spent two days with my best friend Cindy, exploring Death Valley National Park and taking advantage of all the resort had to offer. One of my favorite things was swimming in the beautifully tiled, spring fed pool and the evenings spent lounging by the fireplace.

Aside from the pool, they have a golf course, which doubles as a bird sanctuary and an onsite fine dining restaurant and lounge, which you must absolutely experience. Plus they’ve got a perfectly delicious brunch menu with something for everyone.

We stayed at one of the 22 new casitas (I highly recommend – especially if you don’t want to be around people) that came with its own golf cart to get around the property! The new casitas offer privacy and luxury, each with a separate bedroom and wetbar. Our “backyard” even faced a luscious, tropical area with a large grass lawn and ponds. Our front yard was even more impressive with epic views of Death Valley and the mountain ranges.

When you do decide to go, I highly recommend traveling there in the colder months (think November – February) due to the extreme hot temperatures in Death Valley (I am currently working on my guide to Death Valley, so check back!). We visited over Thanksgiving weekend and it was perfect.

I discovered so many beautiful little corners on the property that made me feel like I was transported to another world, with the tranquil flowing spring waters, to the luscious palm trees and bougainvillea planted all over the resort.
With it’s central location to all things Death Valley and all the resort perks, the magical Oasis at Death Valley is a definitely an unforgettable, bucket worthy destination. I can’t wait to go back!
